BLACKPINK’s Jisoo opens up on why she chose Valentine’s Day for solo music release

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo recently revealed her eagerly awaited solo comeback. Nearly two years ago, her single, FLOWER, which also served as her official solo debut, was released. Fans have since been anticipating her new music. Jisoo said that she would be releasing something new on February 14 in a brief video that she posted on Instagram on January 13.

When many fans questioned why she choose that specific date, the BLACKPINK member herself gave the answer.

On January 14, on her official Bubble account, Jisoo shared, ” I chose Valentine’s Day because I thought it would look romantic if it was released then.” She said added on a lighter note, “The gift is me.”

On a contrary, she revealed about preparing for his first solo music under her new agency BLISSOO. “It’s my first time doing everything on my own, and wow… there’s so much to do! But since BLINKs have been waiting, I wanted to do everything to make you happy. I took lots of photos and worked hard to get everything ready! Look forward to it,” she said.

A teaser was released on social media which featured audio waveform generation in a gloomy and enigmatic backdrop. Since then, there has been a lot of anticipation for the idea of her next single or album. Meanwhile, the BLACKPINK member is her acting career alongside to her music career. On February 7, she will be seen in Newtopia.
