Mumbai: Dhurandhar continues its dream run at the box office, officially entering the ₹300 crore club in India within just 10 days of release. The Ranveer Singh-led action thriller has shown exceptional staying power, recording a sharp surge in collections at the start of its second weekend, aided by strong word of mouth and a lack of major competition at cinemas.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film witnessed over 60 per cent growth as it entered its second weekend, a rare feat for a big-ticket release. On Saturday (Day 9) alone, Dhurandhar collected ₹53 crore, marking its highest single-day earning so far at the domestic box office.

Second Weekend Surge Signals Strong Audience Demand

The Saturday figures represent a 61 per cent jump from Friday’s collection of ₹32.50 crore (Day 8). Notably, Friday itself was an improvement over Thursday (Day 7), which stood at ₹27 crore—the same figure the film earned on both Wednesday (Day 6) and Tuesday (Day 5).

While weekday collections typically witness a steady decline for most films, Dhurandhar managed to stabilise early and then grow, signalling strong audience traction across multiplexes and mass centres alike.

The ₹27 crore weekday figure was a clear improvement over the film’s first Monday (Day 4) earnings of ₹23.35 crore, which marked its lowest single-day collection till date. The dip came after a robust opening weekend that saw the film earn ₹43 crore on Sunday (Day 3), following ₹32 crore on Saturday (Day 2) and an impressive ₹28 crore opening dayon Friday, December 5.

Becomes Ranveer Singh’s Biggest Hit in Seven Years

With its domestic collection now crossing ₹300 crore, Dhurandhar has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Rohit Shetty’s Simmba (₹240.30 crore), making it Ranveer Singh’s highest-grossing film of his two-decade-long career. The record was earlier held by Padmaavat.

The film has also gone past director Aditya Dhar’s previous blockbuster, Uri: The Surgical Strike. The Vicky Kaushal-led military drama had earned ₹244.14 crore during its lifetime run, a figure Dhurandhar has comfortably overtaken within its second weekend.

Chasing ‘Padmaavat’ as the Next Big Benchmark

While Dhurandhar has become only the second Ranveer Singh film to cross ₹300 crore domestically, it still trails behind the actor’s biggest box office success to date—Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which amassed ₹400 crorein India.

However, trade analysts believe that given its current pace and sustained momentum, Dhurandhar is steadily inching towards that landmark as well, especially with the second Sunday (Day 10) expected to add significantly to its total.

Minimal Competition Helps Box Office Run

At present, Dhurandhar is facing limited competition at the box office. Kapil Sharma-starrer romantic comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 has collected just ₹4.35 crore over its first two days, a stark contrast to the ₹85.50 crore Dhurandharearned during the same period of its second weekend.

This clear gap has allowed Dhurandhar to dominate screens nationwide.

Strong Ensemble Cast Adds to Film’s Appeal

Co-produced by Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios, Dhurandhar features an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun. The performances, particularly those of Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, have received widespread appreciation, further fuelling repeat viewership.

As the film heads deeper into its theatrical run, Dhurandhar stands tall as one of the biggest box office successes of the year, with its record-breaking second-weekend growth reinforcing its blockbuster status.
