Jimin keeps demonstrating why he is a highly regarded solo performer. The K-pop star has reached a previously unheard-of level of success with his most recent album, MUSE. Last but not least is the RIAA platinum certified title single, Who. He now holds two new records as a solo artist.
As of December 31, Jimin has been the fastest K-pop solo artist in the United States to receive an RIAA platinum for the work Who. Furthermore, two of his songs have sold over two million units in the US, making him the only K-pop solo artist to do so. In the past, Like Crazy, another hit song, was also certified platinum by the RIAA.
Jimin’s second solo album, MUSE, included the song “Who” as its title. The song and its accompanying music video were released on July 19. The deep lyrics seem to match the singer’s emotions towards a romanticized ideal. He can’t discover this fictional character in real life, yet she captivates his thoughts day and night. Anger and frustration fill his heart as he becomes impatient.
In addition to Who, there are six other tracks on Jimin’s second solo album, MUSE: the pre-release single “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (with LOCO), as well as B-sides “Rebirth” (Intro), “Interlude: Showtime,” “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), “Be Mine,” and “Closer Than This.” Every song on this CD was meticulously prepared to showcase its diversity. MUSE is without a doubt the most exciting album in the BTS member’s solo record to date.
Jimin is already finishing up his required military duty. He and his bandmate Jungkook signed up for the same through the “buddy system” back in December. After serving for 18 months as an active-duty soldier, he is now scheduled to be released in June 2025.
