BTS’ RM clinches the top rank with Megan Thee Stallion as a solo artist in the UK’s Billboard charts
Neva Play debuted on Spotify’s daily Global Top Songs chart at No. 10 and received over 4.5 million plays in its first day, becoming RM’s first solo top 10 performance.
BTS’s RM and Megan Thee Stallion’s partnership has established a new personal record in the UK! The Official Charts, which are sometimes regarded as the U.K. counterpart to Billboard’s U.S. charts, revealed that Megan Thee Stallion’s new track Neva Play, featuring RM, had debuted at No. 66 on the Official Singles Chart on September 13, according to UK local time.
With the release of the song, BTS’s RM achieves his highest-ever ranking as a solo artist on the Official Singles Chart. After Come Back to Me, which reached at number 80, and LOST!, which peaked at number 93, this is his third solo entry overall.
Neva Play also made its debut this week at No. 4 on the Official Singles Sales Chart and No. 3 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart. Megan Thee Stallion debuted her new song, Neva Play with RM, on September 6 at 1 PM KST (9:30 AM IST). After its release, the song swiftly shot to the top of the iTunes charts in many different nations across the world.
As of September 7, Neva Play was number one in at least 87 countries throughout the world, including the US, Germany, Canada, and Greece, according to the iTunes Top Songs lists. On September 6, Oricon’s daily digital singles chart in Japan featured the song as its first entry, at No. 2.
The American musician posted on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “This is one of my favorite RM verses I’ve heard! I’ve never heard him rap in this style before.” Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, is a well-known rapper, composer, and producer from South Korea. On June 13, 2013, he made his stage debut as the leader of the renowned K-pop group BTS.
On December 2, 2022, he made his much-awaited solo debut with the release of his first full album, which included the lead single “Wild Flower” alongside youjeen. Right Place, Wrong Person, RM’s second album, marked his solo return and was released on May 24, 2024.
