BTS’ SUGA gets summoned by police for questioning over the drunk driving case
The incident’s particular circumstances, including any attempts to minimize the situation’s seriousness, will be looked into by the authorities.
On August 22, BTS member Suga (31, real name Min Yoon-gi) is scheduled to appear before the police to answer to charges pertaining to driving under the influence.
Suga has been organizing his schedule and will be questioned regarding the circumstances surrounding his drunk driving, according to a police official on August 21. He is anticipated to make a private appearance at the police station and also avoiding posing for pictures with the media.
The police mentioned, “We cannot deliberately set up a photo line. He will be treated the same as other suspects.”
In the Hannam-dong neighborhood of Seoul’s Yongsan District, late on August 6, Suga was apprehended by police operating an electric scooter while intoxicated. At the time, his blood alcohol content was recorded as 0.227%, significantly higher than the 0.08% cutoff point for license revocation.
Since electric scooters are regarded as vehicles under the Road Traffic Act and are categorized as “motorized bicycles” under the Automobile Management Act, operating an electric scooter while intoxicated may result in criminal charges.
Suga is anticipated to finish his military duty in June of next year.
