There were many touching moments and momentous victories at this year’s Cannes, particularly for India, which took home multiple awards. Among them was the Best Actress Award given to Anasuya Sengupta.

The actress thanked God on Instagram for changing her life after taking home the top prize at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Anasuya thanked everyone who worked on her hair, cosmetics, dress, and other details in her caption, but what really grabbed people’s attention was a touching admission.
Sengupta wrote, “Outfit – quickly bought before the awards from a flea market at Cannes because that’s how I do :)” Her other outfit in which she walked the carpet was designed by Arjun Saluja.

She mentioned about the film, The Shameless which gave her the opportunity to perform on a worldwide scale. The actress who portrayed Renuka expressed her gratitude to director Konstantin Bojanov, her co-stars, and all of her producers for their “so fierce” belief in her.
She further mentioned, “I am deeply grateful to the festival jury artists I have long admired for recognizing my work among such talented peers. To me, this award is much more than just a personal achievement.”“He is nothing short of a magician in my eyes!” the actor added.
“I only stand on the shoulder of giants, women in cinema who have relentlessly been working to embody characters and stories that need to be told. I owe so much to them!”, she wrapped up.
