Alia Bhatt is bracing to be a part of the red carpet event at the coveted Cannes Film Festival 2025. The actress was expected to join the opening ceremony, and destined to fly out to the French Riviera tonight.
Nonetheless, according to a Mid-Day report, Alia has decided on the eleventh hour to not leave the country due to incumbent cross-border tensions with Pakistan. Post this her team has been reevaluating her travel engagements amidst the escalation.
A source mentioned to the outlet: “The festival is 11 days long. Of course, there were several activities planned around her today and tomorrow, but she is still contemplating if she can make it in the coming days. It will also depend on her schedule back home.”
Alia was destined to attend as the Global Ambassador of a luxury beauty brand. She was expected to arrive at the gala alongside Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult.
Alia Bhatt’s upcoming projects
On the work front, Bhatt will be seen in Alpha, an action spy thriller directed by Shiv Rawail. The film will be released on December 25, 2025, making it the first ever female-led project in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. Bhatt will play a top-level intelligence agent gauging geopolitical threats, with Sharvari Wagh, Vicky Kaushal, and Bobby Deol.
