BTS member Jungkook has been working on the arm tattoo removal procedure that was evident even before his military service. He wants to remove some elements from the designs that seemed quite regrettable, and reinstating them with fresh ink. On June 16, Jungkook’s tattoo artist shared his thoughts on the changes in designs and the challenges he faced in the procedure.
Jungkook’s Short-Sleeve in Summer Project
The singer was initially not in pace with the cover-ups and even expressed his discontent. The tattooist wrote on Instagram, “when we first met, he (Jungkook) felt very self-conscious about his tattoos and was even too embarrassed to wear short sleeves during the summer. So, our shared goal became what we called the ‘Short-Sleeve in Summer Project’.”
“Reviving his (Jungkook’s) previous tattoos was far from easy. The actual damage was much more severe than what appeared in photos, and there were significant limitations in terms of what subjects could be used for the cover-up,” the artist added. Now, the intent was to erase the old tattoos like the one-eye tattoo with resilient and new ones. This even made him experience “stress-related hair loss”.
He clarified that the post was not made to grab the eyeball rather how he “felt a tremendous sense of pressure and responsibility.” He quipped, “We completed about 70% of the work before he (Jungkook) enlisted, and we’re still continuing the process as his busy schedule allows.” Fans are thrilled to witness the improved results.
