Telugu actor Eesha Rebba has approached the Banjara Hills Police Station in Hyderabad after allegedly facing obscene and abusive comments on Instagram, as multiple news reports citing police sources and the ANI update said.
The development has brought renewed attention to online harassment faced by women in the public eye, with police confirming that a probe has been initiated to identify the person behind the account involved.

According to the reports, Rebba’s complaint relates to “obscene, sexually explicit, and defamatory” comments made on Instagram during promotional activity linked to a film project.
Police sources were quoted as saying that the remarks were not merely trolling but amounted to mental harassment, causing emotional distress and public humiliation.

In her complaint, Rebba reportedly stated that an unidentified individual had been repeatedly posting offensive remarks to target her and tarnish her reputation. The Week reported that she submitted details of the Instagram accounts in question, along with screenshots of the offensive comments.
Reports citing police sources also described the alleged perpetrator as someone operating a meme/social media account, with the offensive comment posted on a public page.

Police have registered a case based on the complaint and said an investigation is underway to trace the person operating the Instagram account, with “appropriate action” to follow once the accused is identified.
As of the latest reports, Rebba had not issued a separate public statement on her social media about the complaint.
