Evolution of Ayushmann Khurrana as the ‘King of Content’

Ayushmann Khurrana who made his Bollywood debut with Shoojit Sircar’s directorial ‘Vicky Donor’ garnered a lot of praise for his on screen performance. And today, Ayushmann has evolved as the master of content as he’s appreciated all around the country for the choice of his films. So, here’s taking a look at Ayushmann’s Bollywood journey focusing mainly on his content-oriented films which were a perfect mixture of a good script and a family entertainer.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha:

The 2015 film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ is from where it all began for Ayushmann Khurrana to be known for playing the next door guy. The movie gives us a reality check but with a perfect dose of entertainment. Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film starred Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. Both the lead were praised for their performances.

Bareilly Ki Barfi:

‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ starred the trio Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. Although, Rao’s performance in the film became the major highlight but Ayushmann playing Chirag Dubey also impressed everyone with his on-screen charm and the successful streak for Khurrana continued.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan:

The ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ Jodi once again reunited on-screens in the 2017 film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ which revolves around a protagonist who suffers from erectile dysfunction. Ayushmann got into the shoes of Mudit as perfect as always. Apart from giving a deep message, the film also turned out to be an entertainer for the audience.

Andhadhun:

Starring in a thriller for the first time, Ayushmann Khurrana impressed everyone with his perfectly moulded performance. An interesting fact is that Ayushmann himself went and approached the director Sriram Raghavan for this film. The film also starred Tabu and Radhika Apte in the major roles. Ayushmann also received National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Andhadhun.

Badhaai Ho:

And in the same year i.e 2018 came ‘Badhaai Ho’ which was a laughter ride along with breaking the societal stereotypes. Directed by Amit Sharma, this film received a great response from the audience because of it’s out of the box concept. This film marked that no one can beat Ayushmann Khurrana when it comes to a perfect content-oriented film.

Article 15:

Giving a reality check to people, Ayushmann was back once again this time teaming up with director Anubhav Sinha. Ayushmann for the first time played an on-screen cop and audience were totally stunned by the film. The film dealt with a major issue prevailing in the country from ages i.e caste discrimination.

Dream Girl:

The recent release of Khurrana i.e ‘Dream Girl’ became a family entertainer once again and with its deep and hidden message it impressed both the masses as well as the classes. The concept of the film was appreciated and all the actors were praised for their performances.

Ayushmann has maintained his record so far so well and on the work front the actor will be next seen in the film ‘Bala’ which also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. The trailer has already got everyone excited and the film is slated to release on 7th November 2019.
