UAE Based Businessman BR Shetty invests Rs 1000 crore
Even before Baahubali’s director SS Rajamouli can make his Mahabharata dream come true, here is a Malayali filmmaker all set to create a film of the same genre!
A UAE-based business honcho Mr. B. R. Shetty on Monday (17 April, 2017) announced that he will invest Rs 1,000 crore to produce the costliest ever Indian film titled “The Mahabharata”. In a statement issued here, B. R. Shetty said the film will be produced in two parts and the shooting will begin next year (2018). He said the first part would be released in 2020 and 3 Months (90 days) later the second part also would be released.
The film would be made in various languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telegu and Kannada besides being dubbed into other Indian and foreign languages.
Film To be directed by film maker V. A. Shrikumara Menon, the story of the film is an adaptation of Shri M. T. Vasudevan Nair’s Jnanpeeth Award winning novel, “Randamoozham”, which narrates the Mahabharata story through the perspective of Bhima.
Clearly, the makers of this have beat Rajamouli’s record breaking period drama, Baahubali’s production cost.
