Telecom operator Vi has officially launched its 5G services in Nagpur, adding another key city to its expanding high-speed network in India. The rollout in Nagpur is part of Vi’s broader plan to bring 5G to 23 cities across its 17 priority telecom circles.
With this launch, Vi users in Nagpur who have 5G-enabled smartphones can now access the next-generation mobile network. As a part of the introductory offer, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data to customers on prepaid plans starting from ₹299. Users can expect improved experiences with HD streaming, real-time gaming, video conferencing, and faster cloud access.
Rohit Tandon, Operations Director at Vodafone Idea, said, “As we launch Vi 5G in Nagpur, we are excited to bring the future of connectivity to Orange City. With our next-gen 5G alongside a robust 4G network, we aim to provide more options and enhanced experience to our users.”
Vi has partnered with Ericsson to deploy advanced, energy-efficient 5G infrastructure in Nagpur. The operator is also using AI-powered Self-Organizing Network (SON) technologies to automatically optimize network performance for users.
In addition to its 5G expansion, Vi has also made major upgrades to its 4G network across Maharashtra and Goa. The company has deployed 900 MHz spectrum on over 7,200 sites to improve indoor coverage, and enhanced capacity on 2100 MHz spectrum across 6,700+ locations. More than 2,000 new 4G sites have also been added in over 2,200 towns.
