Finally the wait of the third installment of Dabangg is over, as Robinhood cop Chulbul Pandey (Salman) comes back with more action, unique mannerisms and drama.
The story starts with the transfer of Chulbul in a nondescript town where his life is all about fighting goons, troubling his brother Makkhi (Arbaaz) and romancing wife Rajjo (Sinha). But it all changes when he busts a prostitution racket which brings him in the crosshairs of Bali (Sudeep).
Beginning with an action sequence backed by Sajid-Wajid’s title tune ‘Hud Hud Dabangg’, the first scene of the film Salman takes his shirt off, flaunts his abs and throws some raw punches.
The only flaw one can witness in the film is that the plot of the film is predictable. Going back to the roots of the franchise, ‘Dabangg 3’ takes the audience to Chulbul’s origin story — his first love interest Khushi (Manjrekar) and the circumstances that led to his metamorphosis.
Driven by a feeling of revenge, Chulbul and the villain at the end of the film have a fight scene and a lot of fireworks. As the movie is largely about the conflict between good and evil, Sinha doesn’t have much to do other than being a good life partner to Chulbul. Manjrekar impresses in her debut as Chulbul’s lady love. The film also portrays the late Vinod Khanna’s real-life brother Pramod as Chulbul’s father Prajapati.
The film directed by Prabhudeva gives all the ingredients of a masala entertainer, with clap-worthy dialogues, Chulbul’s swag and action.
While the narrative is often disturbed by the long line-up of songs, the movie is a balance of comedy, drama, and emotion.
