Darsheel Safary breaks silence on Bollywood abandoning him after Taare Zameen Par

Actor Darsheel Safary started as an actor in Bollywood with Aamir Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Thereafter, he starred in a series of films including, Zokkomon, Bumm Bumm Bole, however could not manage the same reach as his maiden film. In a conversation with News18, the actor expressed how he has been ignored by Bollywood.

Darsheel Safary on the misconceptions spread against him

Few years after Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel unexpectedly did not receive the amount of endorsement he had expected after his terrific work in the film. He said, “You need to understand when to block out certain information. People will talk about everything but you can’t shut everybody’s mouth. I can’t go into the details of what news is being planted about me”.

‘ I am not their saga’

Darsheel added, “I would never even think about the fact that Bollywood didn’t back me more. Who am I for them to back me? I am not their saga bhai. I just need to have talent and strength. I worked hard for that. It emotionally hurts thinking about such stuff, honestly, and derails you from your work.”

Darsheel Safary’s new project

Darsheel last appeared in Phule, starring Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha in pivotal roles. The actor is now seen in a web series Gamerlog. It also features Anjali Sivaraman, Chetan Carpentar Dhawan, Akash Menon, Shubroy Chowdhary, Chinmay Chandraunshu, and Kunal Bhan in important roles.

Produced by Abhinay Deo and Neeta Shah, it tells the tale of a small-town boy Raghu from Surat who has been proposed to be a part of a professional eSports team in Mumbai and compete in the much coveted Tournament of Champions. He decides to evade from his home and work for his passion. The series is available for streaming on Amazon MX Player.
