Despicable Me 4 slated to release soon; explore other films in chronology ahead its arrival

The Despicable Me movie series, one of the finest movie franchises ever, has dominated the animated film market for more than 20 years. The comical, yellow-washed minions continue to be the most beloved characters in the Illumination cartoon series as they strive to make their master, Steve Carell’s Gru, the greatest villain in history.

This is an opportunity to relive the two sequels and two prequels that were produced over the years, while the fourth sequel, Despicable Me 4, is scheduled to debut later this week. The order in which you should watch each Despicable Me movie is mentioned below:

Minions (2015)

The prequel set in the 1960s, follows the minions’ search for a new villain to take charge of their pack . The main three, Bob, Stuart, and Kevin in the animated film go on to become supervillain Gru’s closest allies. Directed jointly by Kyle Balda and Pierre Coffin, and written by Brian Lynch. Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022)

A follow-up to 2015’s Minions, The Rise of Gru chronicles Gru’s continued transformation into a supervillain with the help of his large army of minions. The chronology takes place in the 1970s, ten years after Minions. Stars Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, Steve Carell, Russell Brand, and more are among the ensemble voice cast members. Despicable Me (2010)

The first installment, which debuted in 2010 and told the heartwarming tale of a perennially irritated supervillain named Gru adopting three orphan children as part of his infamous plots, only to have a change of heart while providing for and tending to them, won hearts.

Gru becomes a devoted father to Margo, Edith, and the much-loved Agnes as a result of the unwavering devotion. Steve Carell is back to portray Gru, and Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Elsie Fisher provide the voices of the recurring characters.

Happy, a popular song by Pharrell Williams, was also a fitting addition to the first installment. Peacock and Netflix is streaming Despicable Me.

Despicable Me 2 (2013)

Watching Gru balance his paternal responsibilities with avoiding any references to the villain realm kept fans interested throughout the run time. After a hazardous mutagen is stolen, Gru is hired by the Anti-Villain League to take down a villain while word of his major career change spreads widely.

Agent Lucy, a new character in the sequel, will eventually play a larger part in Gru’s life. Stream on Netflix and Peacock.

Despicable Me 3 (2017)

Gru and Agent Lucy’s contented married existence while raising their three daughters is the central theme of Despicable Me 3. But while fighting a new foe named Balthazar Bratt, Gru finds his estranged twin brother, Dru, upsetting their peaceful existence. But this time, Lucy goes with Gru to save the world from the villain, so he’s not alone. However, once Gru left the villain business, the two are sacked from the Anti-Villain League, and the minions set out to serve a new villain.

Despicable Me 4 (2024)

A strong competitor for Deadpool & Wolverine and Joker 2 on the list of most anticipated films of 2024 is Despicable Me 4. It is aiming for a July 3 US publication date.

Under the direction of Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, the movie will feature Gru and Lucy welcoming Gru Jr. into the family. But when the child abuses his father throughout the movie, it appears that he has supervillain DNA. Maxime Le Mal, a new villain, is on the loose, and Gru needs to return to his duty.

The ensemble voice cast is back ogether with newcomers Steve Coogan, Sofia Vergara, and Stephen Colbert.
