Rajat Batta, a choreographer from Los Angeles who supposedly runs a few dance schools, criticized Diljit Dosanjh on Instagram for failing to compensate his background dancers. He said that although he is extremely proud of the Lover singer and his creations, the fact that dancers are not compensated depresses him.

The Bhangra team of the singer responded to Rajat by posting a joint message on their Instagram accounts expressing their support for Diljit. They wrote that Dosanjh and his amazing team treated them with respect and professionalism from the time they first got in touch until their last performance.

“The love we received from Diljit is something we will cherish forever,” the team wrote.

Lauding Diljit, the team continued, “Performing alongside Diljit Dosanjh was a priceless opportunity that allowed us to showcase our Punjabi culture on a global stage.”

Rajat was then asked by the Bhangra team not to stand for them if he was unaware of the full circumstances, and they added,  “While we appreciate the concern, we do not wish to be represented by the voices who don’t understand our relationship, our motivations, sacrifices, and the immense value we place on such experiences. We are proud of our participation and the new avenues it has opened for the Punjabi community. Do not try to break our bond. We stand united.”
