Fawad Khan initially turned down superhit drama ‘Humsafar’; here’s how he was convinced

One of the most well-liked and gifted performers in Pakistani entertainment, Fawad Khan has captured the hearts of millions of people in Pakistan, India and beyond. He gained a great deal of popularity and recognition from the audience for the Humsafar drama.

In a podcast conversation with Ahmad Ali Butt, the actor recapped his early career and said that he turned down the role at first.

Fawad Khan considered Humsafar as a mere ‘paycheck’

Fawad Khan was asked during the interview regarding the reasons that persuaded him to spot the dotted line for Humsafar and sign for it, alongside Mahira Khan. The actor replied to Ahmad Ali, “I wasn’t convinced. It was just a paycheck. I did not want to do it.”

Sharing why Humsafar was a blockbuster, he added, “I think it mostly worked because it’s not really a unique story or many more stories like that were being told at that time. I think it was the combination of the people who did it, the people who came together to do it; that’s what made it somehow different.”

The Zindagi Gulzar Hai actor emphasized that the show’s OST made a significant contribution to its success.

Fawad Khan refuses to be a part of Humsafar again

The Khuda Kay Liye star continued the conversation by admitting that she had twice said no to drama. Fawad went on to explain that he didn’t fall in love with Humsafar, but he consented to do it since Momna was so pushy. The Kapoor & Sons actor claimed to have good recollections of the show, but he said that he would not participate if given the opportunity.

For those who are unaware, Mahira Khan played Khirad and Fawad Khan played Asher in the drama Humsafar. The story revolves around two people who, after discovering they are in a loveless marriage, fall in love with one another.
