The time of year when all the houses are decorated with lights to welcome Lord Ganesha. The festival, which is widely observed with tremendous fervor and excitement nationwide, particularly in Maharashtra, is one of the most venerated occasions in the Hindu calendar. Here is a curated list of movies to binge watch with loved ones.

Agneepath

Isn’t the sequence starring Ganpati Visarjan still remembered as one of the most memorable from the 2012 action-thriller movie Agneepath? Ganesh Chaturthi is aptly encapsulated in the exuberant devotional track Deva Shree Ganesha. The Karan Malhotra directed film stars Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, and Hrithik Roshan.

Vaastav

Vaastav: The Reality, directed by Sanjay Dutt and released in 1999, is a mafia drama movie that perfectly encapsulated Ganesh Chaturthi. The main plot of the movie revolves around Sanjay’s portrayal of Raghu, who strives to live a moral life despite the violence and criminality surrounding him. Raghu is devoted to and believes in Lord Ganesha.

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge

Embracing Ganpati was the primary idea in the 2010 comedy-drama film, which centers on the unexpected entrance of an unwanted visitor and gives a fun twist to the plot. Amidst the amusing circumstances and miscommunications, the family’s adoration for Lord Ganesha is exquisitely depicted. The movie ends with Lord Ganesha being submerged on the final day of the ten-day celebration.

My Friend Ganesha

This endearing movie centers on the relationship between a young kid and Lord Ganesha and masterfully captures the genuine spirit of the auspicious festival. It stars Ahsaas Channa, Kiran Janjani, and Shital Shah in lead roles.

Don

In the film Don, which was directed by Farhan Akhtar, King Khan played dual roles which captivated audience. The devotional song served as Vijay’s entrance theme. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, and Priyanka Chopra also shared screen space alongside Khan.

Shor in the City

The story of the movie takes place amid the lavish Ganesh Chaturthi celebration scene. It also showed other scenes of dedication, such as people dancing in crowded streets. It stars Tusshar Kapoor, Radhika Apte, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Nikhil Dwivedi, and Preeti Desai.
