f(X)’s Krystal Jung announces much awaited release of new album post leaving SM Entertainment

Jung Soo Jung, also known as Krystal, from the celebrated second-generation group f(X), surprises fans with her anticipated comeback to mainstream music after five years. According to Allkpop, she announced in her latest appearance at the premiere of the French film Hors du Temps (Suspended Time) on April 11. She arrived as a promotional ambassador for Semaine du Cinéma Français 2025.

Krystal is now bracing for a solo album after the unprecedented hiatus. Her last work was Leila Hathaway’s I’m Coming Back, a cover song for SoundCloud. Earlier she has also verified being associated with the label Beasts & Natives (BANA), hinting a new phase of her journey. Nonetheless, neither the artist nor the agency has posted any music since 2016.

The fans have been enthralled with the revelation by the artist. She clarified about her comeback in addition to managing her acting projects. “I am also preparing for my album. This isn’t the first time I’m talking about this!”

The MC then inquired, “Can we hear this album within the year?” to which she replied, “Hopefully. I think so.” She added about concluding the shoot for Audition 109, crafted by Jung Woo.
