On July 24, Lazenby posted on Instagram and Twitter to announce his retirement from the film industry, having worked in the business for decades. The actor posted a photo of himself along with a long note explaining his reasoning and expressing gratitude to his crew.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s time to announce my retirement from work,” he penned down. The actor stated that he will no longer be signing autographs, doing interviews, or attending work-related public appearances.
“It’s been a fun ride but getting older is no fun,” he continued. Following an expression of gratitude to the public and his manager and friend Anders Frejdh for their “love and support,” Lazenby declared his intention to dedicate the remaining of his life to his loved ones.
