Drake, the Grammy-winning Canadian artist, is supporting Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 championship game versus Sunrisers Hyderabad today. The rapper, 34, is placing his “first ever cricket bet” in the IPL 2024 Final. He frequently wagers heavily on sports like basketball, American football, and rugby.
Posting a screenshot of his bet receipt, he wrote, “Since @ovorajuju’s team is out, I am going with KKR for my first-ever cricket bet. Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo.”

Drake wagered a whopping $1.15 million in Bitcoin back in February, banking on the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the San Francisco 49ers and win Super Bowl LVIII. The Canadian musician wrote on social media after posting a picture of his betting slip, “I can’t bet against the Swifties”.
Drake has a history of successful betting, but it hasn’t always been easy. For example, in the 2023 World Cup final between France and Argentina, he lost $1 million. In UFC 293 he also lost a $500,000 wager on Israel Adesanya to defeat Sean Strickland via knockout. Additionally, he lost $275,000 when Jorge Masvidal was defeated by Colby Covington at UFC 272.
But Drake appeared to break the curse the previous year when he wagered $300,000 in Bitcoin on the Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVII. In July 2023, he also won $25 million with French Montana while playing virtual roulette.
