All We Imagine As Light has been chosen to open the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival!

This November, Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, which won the esteemed Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, will open in Indian theaters.

The movie will now debut on October 18 as the opening night of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2024. This movie, which stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam, is distributed by Spirit Media and is a co-production of petit chaos (France), Chalk & Cheese, and Another Birth (India). The movie’s November national theatrical release is attracting a lot of anticipation, according to PTI.

On September 21, the Malayalam-Hindi film All We Imagine As Light made its theatrical debut in a few Keralan theaters, thanks to Spirit Media, the production company of Rana Daggubati. Chalk and Cheese Films and Another Birth from India together with France’s tiny chaos were part of this formal India-France partnership, which debuted in theaters on October 2.

Payal Kapadia, who created history in May by becoming the first Indian director to win the prestigious Grand Prix at Cannes, expressed her excitement for the film’s national release.

She stated, “I am so excited for the India release this November! I hope that many people go to watch it. It is such a wonderful feeling for any filmmaker,” according to PTI

The movie stars three women are featured in the Mumbai-based plot: Parvati, a hospital cook, her younger roommate Anu, and nurse Prabha. Their lives merge when they take an impromptu journey to Ratnagiri, giving them time to consider their individual decisions.
