After the deadly Pahalgam attack on Kashmir, the Indian Armed Forces retaliated with the specialised Operation Sindoor. Pakistani actors including, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hania Aamir slammed the mission online. Fans in India who witnessed the screenshots posted on Reddit and X, slammed the Pakistani artists.
Pakistan’s Mawra Hocane, who gained massive stardom and fanbase in India with her maiden Bollywood project Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016 with Indian actor Harshvardhan Rane posted derogatory remarks against the Indian armed forces. On 10 May, Harshvardhan posted on social media about the remark made by co-actor.
Rane penned on Instagram, “While i am grateful for the experience however as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, i have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated. Harshvardhan Rane, 10-5-25.” This was shared beneath a screenshot of a report stating Mawra Hocane’s statement about Operation Sindoor: “Strongly condemn India’s cowardly attack on Pakistan… Innocent civilians have lost their lives. May Allah protect us all… may sense prevail. Ya Allah ho Ya Hafizo #PakistanZindabad.”
Harshvardhan replied, “I respect all artists and humans of this country, that country, kenya and even Mars, but this kind of derogatory remarks about my country by anyone is unpardonable. Am okay with losing out on followers on instagram, but wont allow anyone to walk over the pride and upbringing. Standing by your country is good, but disrespectful, hateful remarks about other country is not.”
