I-DLE’s Yuqi (initially known as (G)I-DLE) has come into fire for her remark on concert ticket policies.

In a new episode of Salon Drip 2, Yuqi and fellow teammate Minnie shared the problems they witness in their agency. During the conversation host Jang Do Yeon mentioned that Minnie had spent over ₩10.0 million KRW (estimated $7,060 USD) from her own share to invite 100 of her friends and acquaintances to a concert.

Yuqi nodded and said, “When we perform in Thailand, all of Minnie’s family, friends, school seniors and juniors, and classmates gather in one place. It’s our concert, but we still have to buy the tickets with our own money, and I just don’t get that. To be precise, we only get four free tickets per person, and we have to pay for any extras ourselves.”

Even though the comments was made on a light-hearted note however it went viral on TheQoo, which amassed more than 65,000 views and over 1,300 comments.

The aforementioned comments translated to:
  • “Then whose money are they supposed to use…? It’s already annoying that they’re taking seats worth ten million won, and now they’re saying they don’t even want to pay for them themselves, lol.”
  • “Then what about the fans who miss out on those seats”
  • “This is honestly ridiculous.”
  • “Wow… I clicked thinking they were talking to fans, but what the hell is this…?”
  • “I almost said something really harsh, but I held it in. Hahaha, seriously Yuqi-ah…”
  • “I was just thinking, ‘Only four seats?’ But the comment section is blowing up.”
  • “? How are you supposed to give out 100 free tickets per member? Even giving one member 100 tickets in advance at a discount would piss off fans.”
