Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand’s anticipated project King is under production. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Deepika Padukone might be a part of the leading ensemble. After few hours later, director Siddharth Anand posted a subtle hint on X about the update.
The director posted, “Ab True.”
It was earlier reported that the actress will be on board as SRK’s former lover and Suhana Khan’s mother. Later, the director yet again posted a vague note, “False.”
As per an insider, SRK always wanted the actress to be on board for the role. Nonetheless, her schedule did not align with the shooting timeframe as she wants to spend ample time with her newborn. Henceforth, the filming was delayed and the actress was called on.
“She will be shooting for her role in the second half of 2025. It’s a full-length role, and a lot more than just a cameo as reported before. Sid and his team of writers have crafted a perfect role for Deepika, that also stands true to the hype of her pairing with SRK,” the source as quoted by Pinkvilla, added.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, King stars Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead roles.
