A rediscovered video from 2017 has sparked conspiracy theories stating “suspicious death of a star who knew Diddy”, which linked the musician Sean “Diddy” Combs to the untimely death of former One Direction member Liam Payne.

Payne had previously described an unsettling meeting with Diddy. He died in Argentina after falling from the third floor of his hotel. Given Diddy’s jail status due to federal allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering, the unearthed clip has generated a lot of conjecture.

“I went over to speak to him and Jay-Z and as I shook his hand he just chuckle… [Diddy had] the most evil laugh I’ve ever heard,” he stated.

Then, Payne recalled that Diddy had held his hand for far too long, making it “the longest handshake ever.” “So, I’m a little bit fearful of that man,” he stated post the handshake incident.

Payne quipped, “When is this going to end?” as the prolonged handshake left him feeling uneasy.

The singer recalled this incident which happened post his appearance on The Graham Norton Show back in 2017.

Diddy’s ongoing legal issues have fueled wild conspiracy theories

A person tweeted, “Liam Payne talks about Diddy. Everyone tries to stop him. And now he dies mysteriously??! Connect the dots.”

“There’s no such thing as an accident in the music industry. Liam’s ‘fall’ was a warning to others,” a tweet read. “Too many stars die under suspicious circumstances. Liam’s fall is just another in a long line of unexplained deaths,” and continued, “I’m suspicious of any death with people who knew Diddy.”

When Payne “missed the mark”

Payne recapped his encounter with Diddy at a celebrity-filled event that also featured Jay-Z and Leonardo DiCaprio in a different 2017 interview with Kyle and Jackie O of KIIS FM. He reiterated Diddy’s eerie laugh and the odd handshake, calling it “the most daunting celebrity experience.” He also acknowledged that, looking back, he had “missed the mark” when he had approached Diddy, thinking he would be the most secure of the three.

As per the reports, Payne “had jumped from the balcony of his room” on the third story of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, according to a statement released by Pablo Policicchio, head of communications for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry.
