In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there have been long-running rumors that Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider. Hollywood is talking about this actor, who played Ken in the recent movie Barbie. Do these reports, though, really suggest that Ryan Gosling will play Ghost Rider?

Gosling is expected to portray the legendary character of Marvel’s Ghost Rider, according to internet rumors. “Ryan Gosling will portray Ghost Rider in the MCU,” according to a tweet made on X (previously Twitter) by @rejectedscooper.

Adding to it user @HolyfieldM5 said, “Johnny Blaze will make his debut in GHOST RIDER & THE MIDNIGHT SONS film , he will also be lead of the project. Played by a very popular actor.”

However Marvel Updates on X wrote, “Ryan Gosling has not been ‘officially cast’ as Ghost Rider. Any official announcement would come directly from Marvel and no such announcement has been made.”

An exception from MCU’s original portrayal of Ghost Riders

If everything said above were accurate, Gosling would not have been the first to bring Ghost Rider to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Agents of SHIELD’s fourth season included another fiery antihero, Robbie Reyes, played by Gabriel Luna. Luna’s perspective was positively received, and his hell charge left a lasting impression.

Was Gosling previously considered for a role in the MCU?

Over the years, Gosling’s name has been associated with a number of Marvel roles. Apart from Ghost Rider, he was rumored to be eyeing Sentry, who will star Lewis Pullman in the 2025 movie Thunderbolts. Gosling was a popular candidate among fans for roles like Johnny Storm or Reed Richards during the MCU Fantastic Four casting frenzy.
