Is Scarlett Johansson reviving as Black Widow in Avengers: Doomsday?

She will be next seen in Jurassic World Rebirth, to be released on July 2.

Scarlett Johansson has opened up about her return as Black Widow in Avengers: Doomsday. The film’s shooting has already started. Just like Robert Downey Jr.’s revival as Doctor Doom fans are expecting a spin-off for her character as well. However, as of now, she confirmed on the cover of Vanity Fair, of not reviving her character as Natasha in the MCU.

Scarlett’s statement

During the interview, Scarlett said, “It would be very hard for me to understand in what capacity [returning] would make sense for me, for the character that I play.”

She added, “I miss my buddies and really would love to be with them forever, but what works about the character is that her story is complete. I don’t want to mess with that. For fans too—it’s important for them.”

Natasha’s character development in MCU

Scarlett’s character was killed in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. She sacrifices herself to attain the Soul Stone on Vormir. The new introduction in Marvel Cinematic Universe was of The New Avengers/Thunderbolts, played by Florence Pugh in the garb of Yelena Belova, the younger sister of Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow).

Scarlett is now bracing for the global screening of her directorial debut, Eleanor The Great at the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival reserved in the Un Certain Regard category. It also features the 94-year-old veteran actor June Squibb in the lead role.

She also have The Phoenician Scheme premiere set for the Main Competition.
