Janhvi Kapoor defends Pushpa 2’s rule over the theaters amidst backlash
Not many people are pleased with this change because Pushpa 2 is currently in power.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is now dominating theaters across the country. The audience is expressing their love for the film. According to sources, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar won’t be re-released in India during that time because the South Indian film has taken up big theaters for the upcoming weeks.
A subset of moviegoers who preferred to view the epic science fiction drama on a large screen were annoyed by this. As a result, they began criticizing Arjun’s film on social media. Janhvi Kapoor quickly expressed her support for Sukumar’s film in the comments section.
She wrote, “Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolising the west and running down things that come out of our own country and instantly disqualifying it from being considered as worthy?”
The actor added, “The same rooted representation and larger than life tone other countries appreciate and our fascinated by our cinema for, we ourselves are embarrassed of. Sad.”
It was previously rumored that Interstellar, the Oscar-winning film directed by Christopher Nolan, would return to theaters on its tenth anniversary. Additionally, IMAX announced that they will screen the picture exclusively for one week to commemorate the film’s tenth anniversary of its big-screen debut.
A user wrote, “They couldn’t re-release Interstellar on IMAX in India, coz people wanted to watch this on IMAX,” while another added, “Happy Interstellar re-release day to everyone except multiplex owners in India who decided it wasn’t worth it to screen the movie for even one day, like the rest of the world.”
“So @IMAX isn’t releasing #Interstellar in India because people wanna see Pushpa 2. I feel cheated,” another added.
