John Abraham starrer The Diplomat mints Rs 13.25 crore on its first weekend

Director Shivam Nair, who has previously directed films like Ahista Ahista, Naam Shabana and Bhaag Johnny, returned to the big screen after eight years with The Diplomat. In its first week, The Diplomat has had a modest run against the backdrop of India-Pakistan ties.

The Diplomat’s first Wednesday box office receipts increased by Rs 1.3 crore. In India, its total revenue has reached Rs 17.45 crore. The John Abraham film brought in Rs 13.25 crore on its first week of release.

The political thriller, which also starred Sadia Khateeb, brought in Rs 4.2 crore, including revenue from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The film which has been highly welcomed by moviegoers, depends on word-of-mouth to do well during the second weekend. Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League, which begins on Saturday, March 22, 2025, will have an impact on the movie’s box office performance. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play the first IPL match.

The movie is up against the holdover release, Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal.
