The prequel to John Wick is currently in development and could be released at any time, according to co-creator Chad Stahelski. There are several upcoming projects in the works for the John Wick franchise, including a spinoff, a TV series, and an anime picture, according to Chad Stahelsi in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Additionally, he discussed adopting quality control for the John Wick franchise and revealed that, because of his strong involvement in the brand, Keanu Reaves is the first person he called.
He stated, “We have three new things coming up: an anime feature, a TV show, and a new spinoff. So Keanu and I are still very active on all that, and we didn’t want to get so big that we lost sight of what makes John Wick, John Wick.”

There were no specifics shared regarding the production team or the people working on this project, except than the announcement of the prequel movie. However, it has been revealed that they will now concentrate on John Wick’s history and the “Impossible Task” that inspired him to abandon his life as an assassin. The cause of John Wick’s return to crime is one of the series’ mysteries. But now that the creators are going to make it public, the suspense will finally stop.
Keanu Reaves plays a retired assassin who returns to the criminal underworld to exact retribution. There are currently four parts in this incredible series. John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum (2019), John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), and John Wick (2014). Additionally, there is a spin-off series called The Continental (2023) and Ballerina, which will be released in theaters on June 6, 2025.
