Jujutsu Kaisen comes to a spectacular end; creator Gege Akutami opens up on the finale plot
Since its 2018 launch, Jujutsu Kaisen has grown to be one of Shueisha’s best-selling manga series.
The creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, has given his opinions on the finale of the officially completed series. One of Shueisha’s most popular manga series, which has been going strong for six years, has come to an end with the release of its 271st chapter.
In a letter, Akutami thanked his followers for their support and pledged to keep working on next projects. The protagonist of the tale is Yuji Itadori, a young child who becomes mixed up in the realm of curses.
Yuji and his comrades encounter many difficulties during the series, one of which is the untimely passing of Gojo, their mentor. After much hardship, Yuji was reunited with his pals Megumi and Nobara in the last chapter, which provided viewers with a feeling of closure. The characters’ reunion felt natural and provided a lighter, more serene ending.
Akutami addressed the ending and made hints about upcoming projects in the note that Shueisha published. He asked fans to continue supporting him while he pursues his next goals. A fresh drawing of Yuji Itadori, which features the protagonist grinning in spite of his adversities, was included with the message.
With more than 100 million copies in print, it accomplished a noteworthy milestone and cemented its status as one of the best-selling manga ever. Akutami began working as a professional manga artist in 2014 and soon became well-known. His breakthrough hit was Jujutsu Kaisen.
Even if Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen comes to an end at the end, it’s obvious that the author still has more to contribute. The details of Akutami’s upcoming project remain unknown, but fans are curious to know what he will work on next.
On September 30, 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter will be released.
