According to officials, singer Justin Timberlake was detained early on Tuesday and is charged with operating a vehicle on Long Island, New York, while inebriated. According to a statement from the district attorney’s office for Suffolk County, Timberlake was released from detention following his arraignment at Sag Harbor, on the eastern end of Long Island.
In 2002, he started a solo recording career after becoming well-known as a member of the successful boy band NSYNC. He had won four Primetime Emmys, and ten coveted Grammys.
Following the publication of Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, last year, Timberlake was in headlines for both good and bad reasons. His first album in six years, the sentimental Everything I Thought It Was, was released in March. It was a return to his signature future funk style.
Timberlake will play two gigs this Friday and Saturday in Chicago before heading to Madison Square Garden in New York for two days on Tuesday and Wednesday the coming week.
