Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin is now playing the lead in South Korean television series When the Phone Rings. The show has been able to get great ratings with each new episode.
Nielsen Korea released the ratings for the episodes that aired the day before on December 28, 2024. When the Phone Rings’ ninth episode, which has been getting less traction than the Saturday episode release, has been released. It has an average nationwide rating of 6.4 percent and sets a new personal best for Friday.
This story, which is based on Geon Eomul Nyeo’s web book The Number You Have Dialed, examines the complicated and aloof marriage between Hong Hui Ju and Baek Sa Eon. Their union started out as a convenience marriage. They have been living in silence for the past three years, avoiding deep conversations and not eating meals together, but they continue to present themselves to the public as a contented, well-adjusted couple.
Conversely, season 2 of Fiery Priest, which premieres around the same time slot as When the Phone Rings, received a 10.9 percent rating. With the last episode, the drama dominated its time slot on all networks for the full week.
Kim Nam Gil plays Kim Hae Il, a fiery priest who was once a NIS agent and has a talent for detecting murders. The character of Goo Dae Young will be portrayed by Kim Sung Kyun, who is awkward and a pushover but incredibly committed to his job. Park Kyung Sun, a dishonest prosecutor who repented in the first season, will also be played by Honey Lee, better known as Lee Ha Nee.
Another new face in the upcoming season is the South Korean singer BIBI. As a narcotics detective who is deeply committed to her career, she will be playing the role of Goo Ja Young.
