K-pop star Wang Yibo becomes the torchbearer at the Paris Olympics 2024, alongside Jin
Mengniu, an IOC TOP Program partner, recommended Wang Yibo, making him the 13th torchbearer for this Olympic torch relay.

Wang Yibo is an actor and member of the South Korean-Chinese boyband UNIQ. He is one of China’s torchbearers for the Paris Olympics 2024. On July 14, Wang Yibo carried the torch through the heart of Paris, just like BTS member Jin.

Wang Yibo, previously was a part of the Olympic Qualification Series ambassador in Shanghai. His relay race happened in front of City Hall at approximately 11:00 p.m. during the Olympics in Paris.
“Being a torchbearer at night and starting at point 85, my birthdate is a very special experience. I feel honored and happy,” he mentioned in an interview. Yibo continued, “I hope Chinese athletes can enjoy the Olympic stage and achieve great results.”
“He has always been passionate about sport,” a fan mentioned on Weibo. Another wrote, “You are the highly anticipated torch-bearer representing China on the world stage. I will always support you.”
About Wang Yibo
Famous for his expert street-dancing and professional motorcycle racing abilities, Wang Yibo decided to pursue acting. At the age of 13, he participated in a national street dance competition against dancers of all ages and placed 16th in the hip-hop category; he is currently a trainee at Yuehua Entertainment and a member of the South Korean-Chinese boyband UNIQ. In 2011, during his second year of high school, Wang took part in the IBD dance competition and placed 16th in the hip-hop category. After that, he joined Yuehua Entertainment as a trainee, making his UNIQ debut in 2014 with the song “Falling in Love.”
He led a team on the well-liked Chinese TV program Street Dancing of China from 2020 to 2022, receiving high appreciation. After just a year of training, he participated in the Asia Road Racing Championship in 2019 and won the rookie division.
He shared the screen with Tony Leung Chiu-wai in the spy thriller Hidden Blade, which earned him the Most Media-Attention Male Lead Actor award in 2023.
