Aditya Sarpotdar is releasing another eerie comedy with lead actors Saqib Salim, Riteish Deshmukh, and Sonakshi Sinha, after the success of Munjya. On July 2, the trailer for Kakuda was unveiled, taking a supposed jibe at Stree and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
The trailer
The eerie village of Ratodi, where each home has two doors—one large and one small—is first introduced in the trailer. The smaller door is intended for Kakuda, the ghost. Sonakshi’s Indira and Sunny, the role played by Saqib, fall madly in love. After being hitched, they move to the village of Ratodi and begin a new life. But when they come upon a curse from Kakuda, their love story takes an unexpected turn. At 7:15 p.m. on their wedding night, Sunny inadvertently summoned the evil spirit by forgetting to unlock the little door for Kakuda.

Riteish Deshmukh as the ghost-hunter
Known for his comedic timing, Riteish is shown making fun of the female spirit that people draw on their walls and the ghosts that dance and sing (a reference to Manjulika from Bhool Bhulaiyaa) (the tagline from Stree).
The horror-comedy, which is produced by Ronnie Screwvala, will air on Zee5 on July 5, 2024.
