KARA’s Park Gyuri takes temporary hiatus due to facial fractures, states Big Boss Ent

Surgery and a four to five week recuperation period has been advised to the artist.

Actress and member of KARA, Park Gyuri is temporarily pausing her career due to facial fractures. Gyuri’s managing label, Big Boss Entertainment, revealed that she had fractures to her cheekbone and eye socket from private activities.

In the midst of this setback, KARA plans to perform solo in Tokyo and Osaka in August and release their new single, I DOI DO, on July 24.

,Big Boss Entertainment revealed on July 13, KST, that actress and KARA member Park Gyuri will take a short break to heal from facial fractures. The label disclosed that Gyuri sought medical attention after suffering fractures to her cheekbone and eye socket during private schedules. Following a comprehensive assessment, doctors advised surgery and a four to five week recuperation period. She will therefore miss all of the activities that were originally planned for the month of July.

Further course of events  

Despite multiple lineup changes, Gyuri made her KARA debut in 2007 as the group’s leader and went on to have great success with hits like Honey, Mister, Lupin, Cupid, and more. In addition, Gyuri has pursued solo endeavors. She voiced Kate in the Korean dub of Alpha and Omega in 2011 and had a major part in the 2018 film Miyak.

Meanwhile, KARA keeps going even though she is only gone for a short while. In addition to their August solo shows in Tokyo and Osaka, the group will release a new single, I DO I DO, on July 24 at 6 PM KST.
