L2 Empuraan starring Mohanlal broke box office records and had a fantastic day at the ticket booth today. On March 27 it became the largest single day at the Kerala box office after the film’s historic opening.
Leo, which was released on October 19, 2023, holds the second position. Despite being a Tamil film, the Thalapathy Vijay film set a new record in the neighboring state by grossing over Rs 12 crore on its first day at the Malayalam box office. It’s interesting to note that the Mohanlal film’s advance bookings exceeded Leo’s opening day total because of the extraordinary excitement surrounding the Lucifer sequel.
Together, the three Malayalam films Aavesham, Varshangalkku Shesham, and Aadujeevitham dominated the box office on April 14, 2024, earning the third-largest single-day collection. The films brought in a staggering Rs 9.5 crore in the Mollywood box office.
They emerged as fourth-largest single-day box office receipts. On April 11, 2024, the Fahadh Faasil, Pranav Mohanlal, and Prithviraj Sukumaaran films brought in a combined total of Rs 9 crore at the Kerala box office, making it one of the state’s busiest days.
KGF Chapter 2 and Beast had the fifth-highest single-day collection in Kerala. There was only a single day between the releases of the two films. On April 14, 2022, the Yash and Thalapathy Vijay-starring films brought in a total of Rs 8.50 crore at the Kerala box office, making it one of the most successful days ever.
