On Tuesday, the Kerala High Court denied a request by former BJP Thrissur district committee member Vijeesh Vettam to halt the release of the movie L2: Empuraan.

According to a statement from the BJP media cell, Vettam filed a complaint against the Prithviraj-directed movie featuring Mohanlal before the High Court.

“Former BJP Thrissur district committee member Vijeesh Vettam has been suspended from the party. He was suspended from primary membership. Kerala High Court has refused to put a stay on the screening of the film. The petition alleges that the film promotes anti-nationalism and paves the way for religious hatred”, the release stated.

Who Is Mysterious Character in L2 Empuraan?

“The petition names the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Film Certification Board, Team Empuraan, and the State police chief as opposition parties”, the release continued.

Vettam underlined that his choice to go to court was personal and that he would persist with legal action against the movie, but he said he accepts the party’s decision.

The BJP Thrissur district committee member claims that the movie has a financial and communal divisive objective, which compels grassroots activists like him to react.

According to Justin Jacob, the district head of the BJP in Thrissur, Vijeesh filed the complaint while serving on the district committee, which prompted the party to take action. He added that additional reviews will be carried out on the subject and that the BJP would take strong action against anyone who disobeyed its regulations.
