Actor Nam Yoon Su donates kidney to his father; gets discharged post successful transplant
Now that he and his father have left the hospital, Nam Yoon Su intends to soon return to acting.

On June 19, actor Nam Yoon Su underwent kidney transplant surgery in order to give his father a kidney. This procedure recently made headlines.
Nam Yoon Su, meanwhile, will play the lead role in the drama Love in the Big City, which will hit theaters later this year.
Nam Yoon Su to restart acting

A heartwarming tale about actor Nam Yoon Su, who underwent kidney transplant surgery on June 19 and gave his father one of his kidneys, was covered by the Korean media outlet SPOTV News on July 16. Since the start of the year, the actor has suspended all of his professional endeavors in order to give his full attention to getting ready for and undergoing this life-saving surgery.
Nam Yoon Su’s agency Garten, issues a verified statement, “Nam Yoon Su donated a kidney to his father on June 19. Both Nam Yoon Su and his father have now recovered and been discharged from the hospital.”
Even though he had to take a break for the procedure, Nam Yoon Su plans to soon return to acting. He’s set to star in the drama Love in the Big City (working title), which is slated to open later this year.

Nam Yoon Su became well-known for his roles in the 2020 Netflix series Extracurricular, the 2020 tvN series Birthcare Center, the 2021 JTBC series Beyond Evil, and the 2020 KBS series The King’s Affection.
He started his career as a model in 2014 and then made his acting debuts in a number of dramas and music videos. He most recently appeared in the SBS drama Today’s Webtoon in 2022, costarring with Kim Se Jeong and Choi Daniel, demonstrating his ongoing development and influence in the K-drama scene.
