Korean survival drama ‘The 8 Show’ becomes 7th most-viewed non-English TV show globally
Three days after its debut, the show attracted 1.7 million viewers.

Suspenseful survival drama The 8 Show, stars Chun Woo Hee and Ryu Jun Yeoleight which highlights the story of people who agrees to participate in a game show in order to win money. The drama rose to the seventh spot in the world ratings for the week’s most watched television program.

Netflix announced on May 22 that from May 13 to May 19, The 8 Show moved up to the seventh spot on their list of the top 10 non-English TV shows. After its May 17 release, the drama entered the chart in just three days.

Netflix is offering The 8 Show, which debuted on May 17, for streaming.The principal actors are Moon Jeong Hee, Bae Sung Woo, Lee Yul Eum, Park Hae Joon, Ryu Jun Yeol, and Chun Woo Hee.
The webtoons Money Game and Pie Game by Bae Jin Soo served as the inspiration for the drama. The drama’s director and writer is Han Jae Rim. Among other things, he wrote Emergency Declaration, The King, and The Show Must Go On. In addition, he is helming the forthcoming historical K-drama Delusion, which was originally slated to star Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee.
For a hundred days, contestants must withstand difficult circumstances and seclusion from the outside world. Every penny they spend throughout the game will be multiplied by 1000 and deducted from their earnings, even though they are able to split the prize money.
