When Laila Majnu debuted in theaters back in 2018, it was not well received. It was presented by Imtiaz Ali, directed by Sajid Ali, and starred Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary. The film was deemed a theatrical disaster after only making about Rs 2.20 crore nett during its initial run. Because there weren’t many new releases six years after Laila Majnu’s original release, it was re-released in theaters, and the results were shocking—in a good way.

The biggest surprise came on Monday when the Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary movie made twice as much as it did on its first day, Rs 60 lakh. The contribution from PVRInox is Rs 2.40 crore (gross). With this, Laila Majnu’s four-day total since its re-release is now Rs 2.65 crore.
