Kate Cassidy, Liam Payne’s girlfriend, explained why she had to leave the city and return home early. She was with Liam Payne in Buenos Aires, Argentina, just days before he died after falling off a third-floor balcony. The couple was initially only expected to be in the city for five days, but Cassidy said that their stay was extended to two weeks.
In the clip featuring the journey to the US, Cassidy said, “I was so ready to leave. Honestly, love South America but I hate staying in one place for too long”. “I was just like ‘I need to go home,’” she added.
The singer died after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. Payne suffered severe injuries, including a brain fracture, according to Alberto Crescenti, director of emergency medical services.
Prior to Payne’s untimely death, the two had been dating for two years. His family issued a statement mourning his death which read, “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul.” The late singer’s family received emotional condolences and tributes from members of the music industry as well as his former bandmates.
