Light Shop fetches the third spot in the TV series list, surpassing Jungkook’s documentary
The show’s plot centers on an enigmatic light shop where odd things begin to happen.
On December 3, 2024, a brand-new South Korean television series called Light Shop was released starring Park Bo Young and Ju Ji Hoon in the key roles.
Statistics shows that it has emerged as the most-watched series on the Disney+ streaming service as per Flixpatrol on December 6, 2024. It made it to number three on the top ten list, outperforming Jungkook’s documentary I AM STILL ORIGINAL, Kim Nam Gil’s The Fiery Priest, and Ji Chang Wook’s Gangnam B-side. Furthermore, Light Shop topped the TV show list in three different countries, including South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
In Turkey and Japan, it was included among the top ten. The show follows a diverse group of strangers who are all dealing with the emotional fallout from a traumatic experience in their past. They try to carry on with their regular lives, but they can’t help but be pulled to an odd light business hidden down a spooky, dark alley.
A quiet and mysterious shopkeeper keeps a close eye on the shop, which has an almost unearthly appearance. The characters start to think that the shop might hold the answers to the unanswered questions of their history as well as the key to influencing their present and future as they learn more about its enigmatic charm.
The forthcoming K-drama is based on Kang Full’s well-known webtoon Shop of the Lamp. The cast also features Bae Sung Woo, Uhm Tae Goo, Kim Seol Hyun, Lee Jung Eun, Park Hyuk Kwon, Kim Min Ha, Kim Seon Hwa among others
