The much-anticipated Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season two is almost here.

Amazon Prime Video unveiled a teaser film featuring thrilling behind-the-scenes footage on Monday, August 26, following the release of the first trailer for the new season at Comic-Con on July 26 and the final one on August 14. There are five seasons planned for the program, which is partially based on parts of Tolkien’s posthumous The Silmarillion.

The drama is set in the brief and peaceful Second Age of Middle Earth, thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. This is an effort to bring Tolkein’s history of the fabled age to the small screen for the first time. Season 2 will see Charlie Vickers’ nemesis Sauron “out and about doing his thing.”

They took me in there and said ‘This is your world. You’re playing Sauron.’”
