The Netflix series, The Lady’s Companion, is actually a Spanish comedy-drama that debuted on March 28, 2025. The plot revolves around Elena Bianda, a youthful and aspirational chaperone portrayed by Nadia de Santiago, and is set in late 19th-century Madrid. Although the series’ love themes and period setting make it reminiscent of Bridgerton, it also features contemporary aspects like dynamic camera motions and a current soundtrack.

Beyond navigating her own life among romance, scandal, and intrigue, Elena Bianda, the young Chaperone, is entrusted with finding acceptable husbands for three affluent sisters: Carlota, Sara, and Cristina.

Finding acceptable boys for the Mencia sisters who are not royalty but hold important positions in their social circles becomes a dilemma for her.

The synopsis read, “Elena’s success lies in her strict moral guidance for families while remaining attuned to the concerns of the young women she mentors—a delicate balance she has mastered flawlessly. Seeing her protégées walk successfully down the aisle is her life’s purpose. Everything changes, however, when she arrives at the Mencía household and finds herself responsible for three sisters.”

The eight-episode series is produced by Bambu Producciones, streaming on Netflix

The Mencía sisters are played by Isa Montalbán as Cristina, Zoe Bonafonte as Sara, and Iratxe Emparán as Carlota, and the lead role played by Nadia de Santiago. Tristán Ulloa plays Pedro Mencía, while Álvaro Mel plays Santiago. Maria Caballero, Adela Leiro, and Sergio Pozo also stars as the supporting cast.
