In an unfortunate turn of events, Malaika Arora’s stepfather committed suicide, shocking the entertainment industry. A Mumbai Police squad has been visiting Malaika’s home since the morning. An India TV source reported that Anil Mehta contacted both of his stepdaughters before committing suicide.
Anil Mehta contacted Amrita Arora and Malaika Arora before taking his life. ‘I am tired,’ he stated over the call. The call was made shortly before committing suicide. It is worth noting that when Anil Mehta leaped from the sixth floor of his flat, Malaika’s mother was present.
Mumbai Police takes cognizance of the death scene
Mumbai police said that Anil Mehta, the father of actor and model Malaika Arora, looks to have committed suicide “prima facie,” and they are looking into every element of the case. The corpse of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem, Raj Tilak Roshan, DCP Crime Branch, told the media. According to him, the investigation is being carried out by forensic and police teams.
“The body of one Anil Mehta (62) was discovered. He resided on the sixth floor. We are conducting additional investigations, and our team is present. We are thoroughly researching all possible aspects. Our teams are here, as are the forensic teams. The body is being taken for postmortem. We are doing a thorough investigation. We are investigating further since it appears to be suicide at first glance,” Mumbai Police stated as quoted by ANI.
Malaika Arora was reportedly in Pune at the time of the incident, and she swiftly left for Mumbai.
