Millie Bobby Brown disclosed a startling detail about her identity: Bobby is not her real middle name. The Stranger Things actor explained to her fans why she changed her name.
She changed her middle name for fun after she began performing in an interview with BuzzFeed UK.
Millie disclosed that her middle name is actually “Bonnie” rather than “Bobby.” She said, “I’ve never told anyone that. You heard it here first!”
Chris Pratt, her co-star in The Electric State, was also taken aback by this statement. She changed her name, according to Brown, when she began performing just for “s–ts and giggles.”
When Brown started playing Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things in 2016, she became a household name at a very early age. As they wrapped up filming the final season, she recently talked about how heartbreaking it was to say goodbye to the show.
Brown stated in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, “Ten years of my life… I started when I was 10 years old. My whole life has been dedicated to the show. My career was built on the show,” further adding, “It’s really hard to process. It took me a while to kind of get over all of it because it just really is an emotional goodbye.”
It appears that the last name “Bobby” is an homage to her father, Robert Bobby Brown. However, she has altered other surnames as well.
She acknowledged using Jake Bongiovi’s last name when she married him in August 2024. A behind-the-scenes photo of Stranger Things Season 5 featuring a blackboard with the words “Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi” was later shared by 21-year-old Brown.
Millie Bobby Brown will star in science fiction adventure comedy-drama The Electric State, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo of the Avengers on 14 March 2025. It stars Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Mackie, among others
