The popular character played by Divyenndu in the television series Munna Bhaiya came to an end in the second season and didn’t make a reappearance in the third. Anand asserts that there is a thin line separating adhering to the script and having such expectations. He stated, “One can’t cater to everyone,” elaborating on how unforeseen events occur in both real life and the show.

Iyer continued, “Similarly, in a show, characters come and go. It is all about ‘Mirzapur’, not about one character. The show must go on with new twists and turns.”

Earlier this year, Divyenndu acknowledged that the character was having an impact on his personality in an interview with Humans of Bombay. He mentioned, “We shouldn’t over-romanticise going too deep into a character, because it is not easy. At times, it used to get really dark for me. I felt suffocated.”

The director stated that while most shows these days have received mixed reviews, many viewers still like the direction the show is taking. Additionally, he acknowledged that some fans were expressing their emotions, but he believes that these were specific to the characters and not to Mirzapur as a whole.

Anand continued, “And there are constant discussions about Season 4 as well, which somewhere makes me believe that the show is widely loved.” He clarified later in the same interview that he is certain about the direction of season 4, but fans will have to wait a little while longer to find out.
