Dhurandhar OTT Release Date Revealed: When And Where To Watch Ranveer Singh’s 2025 Spy Thriller
Dhurandhar

As excitement builds around Dhurandhar, the new high-octane spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh, fans are eager to know when they can finally watch it online. The latest industry updates confirm that the film is set to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run, making it easily accessible to viewers worldwide once its cinema window concludes.

When does Dhurandhar release in cinemas — and when will it stream online?

The film is scheduled for a 5 December 2025 theatrical release.
According to current industry buzz, Netflix has secured the digital rights, and the film is expected to premiere on OTT around 30 January 2026.

This follows the standard gap between a theatrical release and a digital launch, giving the film enough time to perform at the box office before arriving on streaming.

For global viewers who may not catch the big-screen release, the Netflix launch provides an easy alternative.

What to expect: Cast, story and more

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar promises a gritty espionage narrative inspired by covert intelligence operations. Ranveer Singh leads the cast as a RAW agent on a high-risk mission.

The ensemble features several acclaimed names, including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year.

The film blends tension, action and patriotism — key elements that have contributed to the massive pre-release hype

More About The Film

Dhurandhar has been marketed as a hard-hitting action saga set against the backdrop of real incidents, tracing the journey of a fearless Indian intelligence operative sent on a covert Black Ops mission deep inside Pakistan’s Lyari region. The agent’s objective is to dismantle a dangerous terror and crime syndicate while navigating a labyrinth of violence, deception and political tension. This gritty setting is one of the reasons the film has attracted intense curiosity long before release.

However, the “based on true events” tag also triggered the biggest controversy surrounding the film. Early reports speculated that the central character was inspired by the life of Major Mohit Sharma, an Indian Army officer and Ashoka Chakra awardee. This speculation gained traction online, especially after certain leaked details suggested similarities between Sharma’s covert missions and sequences in the film.

To put all speculation to rest, director Aditya Dhar issued an official clarification, firmly stating that Dhurandhar is not based on Major Mohit Sharma’s life. He stressed that the film’s characters are entirely fictional, and the storyline does not depict or mirror Sharma’s real experiences in any form. The clarification came after members of Sharma’s family reportedly expressed concern about inaccurate portrayals in circulating online rumours.

Despite the controversy, the “real-incident inspired” approach continues to shape audience expectations, with many anticipating a grounded, raw and intense portrayal of India’s covert operations.
